Directly following the Dermaroller Therapy procedure the skin naturally starts to regenerate itself from below the surface in the dermis. It takes time for new collagen to form but new skin cells are generated and the blood supply is enhanced almost instantly.

How many Dermaroller treatments do I need?

Although most clients report looking fresher and rested after a few days following treatment, it can take up to 6 weeks before visible signs of regeneration and repair are seen. The process will continue over the following months, providing you with a natural and long lasting enhancement. Your practitioner will normally recommend a series of 3 – 4 treatments with approximately 6 weeks between them. In treatment of acne scars and other types of scarring it may be necessary to extend your Dermaroller Therapy.

What should I expect immediately post Dermaroller treatment?

Immediately after your Dermaroller Therapy procedure you will look as though you have mild to moderate sunburn and your skin may feel warm and tighter than usual. This will subside after 3 – 4 hours with only slight redness the next day. Your practitioner will apply Calming balm immediately after the procedure and you should continue to use this cream until the redness has cleared. SPF50 is advised immediately after the procedure and should be continued throughout your treatment course. It is recommended that makeup should not be applied for 12 hours after the procedure and tepid water should be used to cleanse the face for the 48 hours following the procedure.

How long does the Dermaroller treatment take?

Treatment times vary for each area, 15-30 minutes for a scar , 45 minutes for a face and up to 90 minutes for face, neck and décolletage or stretch mark treatment. A topical anaesthetic is applied 30 minutes before the treatment time.
